A NYC Bike Rack Competition by The New York City Department of Transportation / Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum / Google included the selected design above. The "alien" concept is generated from custom 3D software allowing for multple variations on the form, while still providing effective bicycle protection. The form caught my eye on Bustler, and I love the idea of a simple design competition for a public use project.
